Karen
Cary, owner of Karen Cary's Miniatures, brings a unique talent
to the miniature hobby world having evolved a style as individual as
her work is recognizable. Karen's technique comprises elements of all
medias and transcends barriers of style and taste.
Karen's interests in the miniature hobby begin in 1970 when she hand
crafted 1" scale furniture for a dollhouse project she was working
on. Karen was a student of art and painting so this was a new craft
for her at the time. This was the beginning of a life-long love for
the miniature hobby.
While
Karen's interest in miniatures continued, her love for the craft was
accelerating at an astonishing rate. As she found she could not express
herself through painting alone, she channeled her creativity into building
and furnishing miniature dollhouses where the multitude of medias and
crafts are limited by imagination only.
Karen enjoys sharing her talents and skills with others in the hobby
and frequently conducts classes for other miniaturists on a variety
of miniature themes. Karen holds no reservations in sharing her gift
with all who desire to be introduced to the hobby.
Karen's
extensive list of miniature involvements ranges from teaching others
how to create a wicker furniture piece to being chairperson for a NAME
State Day.
Needless to say that after 30 years of creating stunning miniature
creations, Karen's creativity has not diminished, and her love for the
hobby has escalated into a full-time profession.
